Ampthet Eight

The Ampthet Eight was a group of Mutables who operated in the early Second Chaotic Period, using similar means and motives to hundreds of groups which came before. Ampthets are best remembered because their group lasted almost a century (compared to others which typically managed 30 years at best) and for the particularly powerful enchanted rings they left behind.

Rings

The Ampthet Eight began initially as four Mechanists each of which carried a powerful enchanted ring that controlled one of the four fundamental elements. The name came when the rings were duplicated.

The eight original rings were eventually lost, but the Emphets eventually learned to create copies. The second generation of rings required periodic re-charge by being dipped in an enchanted fountain (or washed in water from that fountain) which in turn allowed the organization's founders to better control their disciples.
