Scarlet Book Timeline
This is more of a scratch page than anything else. Since the Scarlet Jusenkyou books actually have a very tight timeline and continuity, I need to lay out some specific orders and finally clarify a few things I've never gotten around to needing in previous volumes. A similar system will see use in the Conri books. See: Alliance Calendar for an explanation of how the dates work.

School Year
Scarlet's school is broken down into Fall and Spring semesters, further subdivided into quarters.
Summer vacation lasts 87 days, school starts on the second day of the 9th month, which is always a monday
Each Semester is 19 weeks long, the first quarter is always 9 and the second 10, with a few weeks off for various holidays.
First quarter runs from the 36th week to the 45th week
Second quarter from 46 to 51st - break for winter - 2nd week to 6th week
Third Quarter(Second Semester) 3rd to 12th week
Fourth Quarter 13th to 23rd week(actually only 9 weeks because spring break)
- First Quarter Fall Semester: 2nd day of 9th month to 1st day of 11th month
- Second Quarter Fall Semester: 4th day of 11th month to the end of the year, then resumes for 4 weeks in the new year.

Chapter 17

Problem
Book1 was supposed to start at the beginning of the third month of summer, and end right when school lets out the following year.
Instead, the book starts on time, but goes 6 months too long.
Solution
Right now, from doorstep to doorstep, chapters 10-17 takes 7 months, 11 days. I can trim that easily to the planned 6 months, but scarlet needs to leave in the first week of the new year - or sooner. I could have her leave on the 20th day of the 12th month and have her traveling during the winter holiday. Christmas in Gau could make for a fun scene.
That leaves us with chapters 1-9, which need to be restructured so the entire thing takes place between the start of school(2nd day of 9th month) and the winter break(20th day of 12th month). That leaves a grand total of 109 days to tell the first half of the story.
The only way to do this is with HEAVY re-structuring. Currently all of the big breaks are happening early-on.
Chapters 1 and 9
Chapter 1 remains untouched. 9 will need a little work but is largly acceptable as-is
Ending of chapter 8 needs to stay as is.
Chapters 2-8 Redux
chapter 1 stays as is, its only 2 days total.
Start by listing out all of the major events of chapters 2-9:
- Presentation to pets
- parent teacher conferences
- climbing the tribute road
- meeting dragons
- meeting hezikah/Emmerich(happens on the same day)
- Fight at school
- Therapy sessions start(5 weeks)
- Reception/Emmerich dies
- Funeral for Emmerich/getting research lab
- Meeting with antiquarians
- finding out membership dues
- Solo meeting with Albus
TO make this all work, she needs to have the meeting with Alubus on the 18th day of the 11th month, and leave for the citadel on the 21st day of the 12th month.
This has her traveling during the winter holidays for christmas and wash day in gau, and arrival at the citadel early in the new year
All of the events between her being invited to walk the tribute road and the end of the dinner party need to go in one big chunk. NOTE: need to revisit paper, school just started
