New page

Laqutoshon Stone Dragon flight is an offshoot of Lowland Hills Flight and inhabited a region north-west of High Mountain refered to in human prlance as the Biswon Watershed. Laqutoshon is thought to be older than High Mountain Flight, though by how much is unclear. As a sister-flight the two were always allied.

History
During Antiquity, the Laqutoshon Stone Flight was thought to be among the most powerful dragon flights on the Greater Continent, with many stories attesting to the grandeur of the eerie and the size of their horde. They exerted aisngifcant influence over the surrounding regions, and were among the dragon flights known for subjugating the human populations of their land during the early First Chaotic Period.

Their power base is thought to have been to the west of the Oncar Empire, which raises some questions as to the power of the flight. Oncar was a major power in it's own right even before the Dynastic Period, but there are no first-hand accounts of the relationship between the two. It is theorized that Laqutoshon Stone's power faded very early in the Chaotic era and they had already lost significant strength by the time Oncar rose to power.

The devastating event that erased on Oncar Empire also had an impact on Laqutoshon Stone. Exactly how strong the flight was even then is unknown, but some theorize that the enormous earthen wave that destroyed Oncar also buried their horde along with many of their elders.

What is known with certainty is that around the end of the Dynastic Period, Laqutoshon Stone expelled all humans from the then sparsely-populated Biswon Watershed region. The area was then closed to humans, not a major challenge given it's remoteness and the geographic boundaries.

By the Alliance era, the exitense of human settlements in the region was completely forgotten, with most atlasas of the time simply leaving the space blank with a marking of 'here be dragons'. The Laqutoshon Stone Flight quickly developed a reputation as rugged and very fierce, and by the end of the Golden Age the Biswon Watershed was very firmly established as 'dragon country'.

During the ages that followed, Laqutoshon Stone secretly established a new eerie on a subsidiary peek of Mount Frunawa along the eastern side. They began to receive tributes and trade with Rowen, who provide most of the information about the state of the flight at that time. Rowen chroniclers report the dragons as 'damnable, pitiable creatures'. It is thought that throughout the Alliance run, the size of the flight was less than 100, with most too old to hunt or fight.

As it was a sister flight to High Mountain, many dragons took mates from the other flight, until Laqutoshon became more of an offshoot of High Mountain. During the Age of the Dragon the flights officialy merged, with all remaining members of Laqutoshon Stone taking up residence in High Mountain's eerie.
