G.S.S. Galaxy Chaser was an experimental spacecraft operated by [[Gudersnipe School]] in the early [[Ages#The Fifth Age|Fifth Age]]. Chaser was designed for one purpose only: speed.

==Sublight Engines==
The N-Space drive on chaser was a single, highly-augmented [[Ion vacuum drive]] that ran the full length of the ship. It was a 0/100 single-direction drive with a record nine re-compression cycles. Though technically a vacuum drive, eighty-five percent of the ship's weight was made up of fuel for the engine augment systems.

The ship also employed FTL Jump drives in both directions for safety purposes.

===Drop Pods===
Galaxy Chaser carried so much fuel that the external tanks were designed to be jettisoned when empty. In fact, the reason for the number of compression stages in the drive was primarily because augment fuel would become unavailable as the tanks dried.

Chaser briefly held the [[Production Sublight Speed Record]], which at the time was only called the Sublight Speed Record, and prompted the Foundation to re-define that particular milestone. Chaser did hold the all-time sublight speed record for a manned ship for quite some time.
